If Christmas is the season of love and engagements, then January is the time to celebrate your friends’ newly announced nuptials with a great party. Keep décor and themes simple and modern to capture what’s really important: a new lifelong partnership. This engagement cocktail party styled by Maru Photography, Celsia Floral and Red Carpet Ready by Christine shows us how a little can go a long way.
Choose a neutral palette and then add in pops of colour, like the rich red, mauve and latte hues in Celsia Floral’s centrepiece. For a backdrop, consider an all-green wreath or hanging installation to add depth to your room.
Let the cake (and other sweets) stand out in a monochrome hue, like this three-tier nearly red cake by Cake by Nicole. Her matching red cookies keep with the theme as well.
If you can, set up on a crisp, light surface like these marble nesting tables from The Cross Decor & Design. Opt for modern dinnerware and serving dishes, alongside gold accented flatware, candleholders, coasters and vases to achieve a simple, but embellished look for a party.
Keep the menu small, with charcuterie and easily shared dishes like fondue. Create a signature cocktail that represents your relationship and, if you can, include a dash of liquor that matches your colour scheme.
Custom calligraphy invitations and menus will add elegance to the event, while not going over the top. Instead of black ink, Bean Cards and Stationery wrote in a deep red hue and soft charcoal grey. They also added a custom wax seal—the perfect way to reveal your wedding monogram.
