Winter in B.C. has felt long this year, but the snowy backdrop and pretty palette has also been an inspiration for the wedding industry. Esu of Esu Floral says she fell in love with the park for this shoot, which features a grand stone staircase and a cozy gazebo, ideal for an intimate outdoor reception in spring.
She took advantage of the snowy setting to create a timeless winter garden bridal and décor shoot that merges old-world charm with elegant details. “The vintage décor, such as Louis-style chairs, antique dishware, gold flatware, assorted candleholders, pressed glassware and natural linens create an elegant old-world table,” she says. Esu sourced the décor and tableware from various local suppliers including Art of the Party, Pedersens Rentals, Vancouver Vintage, Vintage Meant for Rent and Bespoke Decor.
Instead of a winter palette for the florals, Esu chose an antique pink, peach and cream palette to remind us of the bright spring to come. “We chose antique romance garden roses as the focal point to give it that old English garden look,” explains Esu. “The loose greenery adds a touch of whimsy.”
Model Tessa Buttemer wore a Theia wedding gown from Bisou Bridal that featured lace, corded long-sleeves and a long romantic train. Her graceful hair and makeup were by The Love Team and she wore a vintage fur to keep warm.
MJ and Donny of BetterSweet Photography captured the antique garden shoot in their signature soft and delicate style.
